Employment Agreements

Employers ask me to draft employment agreements when they need to tailor terms and conditions to meet their particular operational, strategic and risk management needs.  This ranges from clauses to provide specific protection, such as restraint of trade provisions, through to strategies to best manage the interface between individual and collective agreements. Risk management issues will often have minimal impact on the day to management of employees but are often extremely important in legal proceedings (when you really need to rely on your contractual terms).

I suggest employers who simply need a standard employment agreement consider using the free employment agreement builder available on the Department of Labour’s employment relations website: http://www.ers.dol.govt.nz However, it is still advisable to talk through the resulting agreement with a legal advisor.
